With over a year of development, the high-precision engineering road measuring robot, independently developed by the Engineering Technology Research Institute of the Third Construction Engineering Bureau of China, has completed over 20 kilometers of road measurement tests in the Wuhan Fourth Ring Road Project, qualifying it for road engineering applications to measure and collect road data with higher efficiency and fewer measurement errors.

The high-precision mobile measuring robot for highway engineering integrates functions such as automatic driving, automatic leveling, automatic station adjustment, and automatic measurement. It is being applied in the highway engineering industry for the first time. The robot's comprehensive measurement accuracy is within 2 millimeters, breaking the centimeter-level accuracy limits in the global highway engineering industry. The comprehensive measurement speed is 8 seconds per point, which increases work efficiency by more than 10 times compared to traditional manual measurement methods.

Use spatial coordinates to quickly identify and point to three 360° prisms with known positions, for fast and accurate total station setup.

The station setup accuracy rate is 99%, the station setup accuracy is less than 0.2mm, and the station setup time is 30 seconds.

Using the non-contact laser measurement method, the robot can accurately locate the section point for measurement and directly generate measurement data and forms that meet engineering quality control and verification and acceptance requirements.

Furthermore, the robot can perform 24-hour road measurement operations in all types of weather, including high temperature, extreme cold, and low oxygen environments, effectively solving the low efficiency of traditional point-by-point manual road measurement methods and reducing labor costs by 80%.

In addition, the robot can achieve 24-hour continuous measurement, which is useful for solving traditional road construction problems and reducing personnel input by 80%. It can also operate in high-temperature, extreme cold, and low-oxygen environments.

Compared with the previous generation, the AgileX Robotics SCOUT 2.0 chassis is 25% smaller in size and offers improved performance, providing the advantages of lower power consumption and longer runtime. Equipped with a 200W brushless motor and a new cooling and safety protection system, in addition to four-wheel drive and differential rotation, it can ensure free automatic movement indoors and outdoors, and in complex environments and climates.

SCOUT 2.0 has an independent main control system that can complete its own motion control and can be customized with complex operating modes. The main control system provides a standard serial port/CAN bus as a connected interface for a variety of external devices, including differential GPS, inertial navigation system, binocular camera, LiDAR, infrared/ultrasonic obstacle avoidance sensors, to help enterprises and scientific research institutions quickly execute secondary development in multiple robotic applications, such as indoor and outdoor inspections, environmental sensing, transportation, delivery, and distribution.
